POV: Dual, Third Person SHE KNOWS BETTER THAN TO SAY “I DO”
After a humiliating end to her engagement, investment banker Sidney Sinclair is done with commitment-phobic men. But when her sister winds up engaged after a whirlwind courtship, she’s thrown in to close contact with exactly the kind of sexy playboy she wants to avoid—the gorgeous best man. She’s stuck with him, for better or worse, until her sister walks down the aisle, but that doesn’t mean she has to give in to his smooth advances, no matter how tempting they are…
BUT HE MAKES IT HARD TO SAY “I DON’T”
Special Agent Vaughn Roberts always gets his man on the job and his woman in bed. So Sidney’s refusal to fall for his charms only makes him more determined to win over the cool and confident redhead. Only what starts out as a battle of wills ends up as a serious play for her heart. Because the one woman who refuses to be caught may be the only one Vaughn can’t live without…I actually have read this a year ago and decided to re-read the entire series starting with this one!
So Vaughn Roberts was an FBI Agent. He’s an alpha, possessive, flirty, and a ladies man. He’s the brother of Simon, Isabelle’s soon-to-be husband. You see, Isabelle was Sydney’s sister. Sydney Sinclair was a director of a firm who handles billion-dollar funds. She’s cautious due to her past relationship, caring, and just wanted to find her Mr. Right. That Mr. Right was definitely NOT Mr. FBI Agent Vaughn. They started at a wrong foot. When they’re both at each other’s date. Sydney profiled Vaughn and hit the mark. Coincidence, they’re both meeting both of their brother and sister to talk about the wedding and them being the best man and the maid of honor. They’re stuck with each other.
Vaughn and Sydney were both attracted to each other it was just they both wanted different things. Vaughn being a ladies man that screams short-term and Sydney wanted a man who wasn’t a cheater and devoted into a committed relationship. Sydney had a list of qualities she was looking for a man. Vaughn got them all checked except the first one: commitment.
Due to the wedding, they started hanging out and one thing led to their friends-with-benefits sort of relationship. Funny, Sydney kept asking Vaughn for “man-speak” and the dumb butt Vaughn kept giving her. Vaughn only decided to go for his feelings when he was threatened with Tyler, a lawyer who’s friends with J.D and Payton from Practice Makes Perfect. He decided to be the man Sydney deserved and looking for. So they confessed I love yous.
I liked their banter and the light story. I though there would be actions like Jack and Cameron’s book from Something About You. Jack’s one of my favorites btw 🙂
