From New York Times bestselling author, Kristen Ashley, comes the long-awaited story of Daisy and Marcus, Rock Chick Reawakening. A prequel to Kristen’s Rock Chick series, Rock Chick Reawakening shares the tale of the devastating event that nearly broke Daisy, an event that set Marcus Sloane—one of Denver’s most respected businessmen and one of the Denver underground’s most feared crime bosses—into finally making his move to win the heart of the woman who stole his. dividerreview1

Daisy was a stripper and Marcus fell in love with her at first sight. Daisy was once a dreamer but her life had not been a fairy tale. She came from a broken family. The only good thing that happened to her was Annamae who gave her advice how to be a Southern woman.

She was raped outside her job and that made Marcus finally claim her as his.

Marcus was rich and classy as Daisy described him. He’s an alpha male and chased Daisy. He wanted to protect Daisy. He promised to put a bullet on her rapist head once he’s caught. Marcus enlisted Lee Nightingale’s crew to capture the rapist. And Marcus wanted give her whatever she wanted – her prince charming.

“Marcus asked, In your castle, did you have a prince charming?”

“And as I gave up the fight, allowed my eyes to close, I muttered, “There ain’t no prince charming for a girl like me.”

Though Daisy put Marcus at arms length, he pursued her still. Daisy was Marcus’ princess. He’s One. The other half of his being.

“I’ve been waiting thirty five years for you to come into my life, Daisy.”

Eventually Daisy surrendered and allowed herself to fall in love with Marcus, even though she’s didn’t fit him since she’s a stripper.

“You. You’re the dream girl like me never thought she could dream.”

I felt like Marcus was lacking with alpha-ness in this book. It’s probably because in other books in Rock Chick series, he was feared by many. He’s not one to be crossed. It’s just probably me. He’s more of a romantic than a warrior. LOL. But thank goodness for him, Daisy finally got her prince charming and her castle 🙂footer1
