Single Dad. Second Chances. Meet Mack in the newest STANDALONE novel from New York Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward.

They called him Mack Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the nickname. Perfect, right?

So was he: perfect. The perfect physical male specimen.

At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.

Everyone wanted a piece of the hot, single father of the sweet little boy.

I became a woman I didn’t recognize, someone riddled with jealousy, because they didn’t know that—to me—he was much more.

They didn’t know about our past.

He’d chosen my school for his son on purpose, because Mack and I, we had unfinished business.

As my friend, Lorelai, so eloquently put it: “Unfinished business between two people who are clearly attracted to each other is like an eternal case of blue balls.” And I was suffering in pain from my case.

I was still intensely attracted to Mack. I tried to resist him, immersing myself further into a relationship with someone else just to protect my heart.

Not to mention, getting involved with a parent was strictly against school rules. But seeing Mack day in and day out was breaking me down.

And soon I might be breaking all the rules.

Author’s note – Told in alternating points of view, Mack Daddy is a full-length standalone novel.dividerreview1

As you know, I dig second chance romance!

Mack and Frankie met when they were in college. Frankie was the new room mate of Mack. They started as friends but they both developed feelings for each other albeit Mack’s off-limit because he’s in a relationship. Mack’s a son of a senator and has been expected to act and be a senator son – follow orders. They parted ways because he got his girlfriend pregnant which put them more in a situation where they can never be together.

Eight years later they were reunited. Frankie’s a catholic school teacher. She’s now the one in a relationship and off-limits. Mack’s son happened to be in Frankie’s class and then their love story begins…

“He’s the one the got a way. Now he’s a single dad and he’s back.”

Mack pursued Frankie even though he knew she was living with a guy, who’s older but treated her really well. There’s no cheating involved. He actually chose this school because of Frankie. He’s ready to fight and win back the girl that got away. He’ll settle with friendship even when that’s not enough then he’ll slowly win her back. I was swooning because Mack was easy to love and he has humor.

I’m here for you.
I want you in my life again.
Even if all you’ll give me is your friendship.
Fuck that. That will never be enough for me.
Not with you.

This was an easy read. Can’t wait for Penelope Ward’s future books! footer1
